Okay, so, I’m Damaris. I like knitting and Doctor Who, among other things. I want to learn how to sew and I’m hoping to do some cosplays in 2014.
Goals:
Try making some more socks and try to design a pattern.
Knit at least two sweaters/cardigans
Learn how to sew
Visit the DWE in Cardiff (not really a goal, but something I want to do)
And some cosplays I want to at least start on (I might not get to start on all of them):

I’ve always loved Amy’s wardrobe (especially her wedding dress from The Big Bang), but this one particularly caught my eye. Amy’s outfit from this episode consists of:

I probably won’t be using these exact items for the costume. The Noa Noa items are near impossible to find (so I’m making the scarf, hopefully I can learn how to sew and find some fabric to make the dress or find a dress similar to it, and tights in a similar colour shouldn’t be too hard to find). This outfit is one of the most famous ones, so there should be some easy alternatives.
Dr. John Watson (A Study in Pink; click for a larger view)
The outfit consists of:
An Albam cable-knit jumper (I knit the jumper myself)
A long sleeve brown plaid shirt underneath the jumper
Uniqlo jeans (I have a pair of jeans that would be good)
Haversack Shooting jacket (one could be easily made from a regular black jacket and sewing on elbow and shoulder patches)
Loake Bedale Brogue Boots (simple brown flats would suffice)
Cane (apparently it’s this one)

This should be the easiest one to finish, as I don’t necessarily need the jacket.
River Song (Forest of the Dead; click for a larger view)
This is one of my favourite River outfits. When she’s uploaded into CAL, she’s wearing this gorgeous angelic outfit; it’s certainly one of the more popular outfits for cosplayers. This one is for my mom, and probably will be a bit complicated. The dress and cardigan I cannot find at all, and even if they popped up on ebay sometime, no doubt they’d be expensive. The outfit consists of:
Donna Karan knitted cashmere sequined cardigan
Amanda Wakeley ivory silk satin dress
And some unid’ed shoes that look like white pointed flats with a black buckle at the top
Silver bead earrings
Silver nail polish
TARDIS journal (I have no idea how to make it look as worn out as it is in this episode, so I’d just buy another one and use it)
My mom’d also need a wig

My mom also likes River’s main outfit from The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang, the main outfit from The Impossible Astronaut, and the ‘defeating the Silence/The Majestic Tale’ outfit from Day of the Moon, so I might attempt one of those.

Donna is my absolute favourite companion and she has such awesome outfits. I really love the outfits from Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead and the outfit from The End of Time. However, my absolute favourite one is the outfit from Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End (yes, she wore the same outfit for three episodes). It consists of:
Tan leather Autograph (Mark’s & Spencer’s) jacket
Grey ribbed Oasis jumper
Purple United Colours of Benetton vest (a regular purple undertop would work just fine)
Warehouse belt
Jeans
Silver hoop earrings
a blue Jigsaw ring (on the middle finger of her right hand)
A sort of burgundy/gold nail polish
and unid’ed brown shoes
Red wig

And last, but not least, Clara’s adorable ensemble from the yet-unaired Christmas special. I was really drawn to it because of the lovely bow tie cardi. The outfit consists of:
Yumi bow pointelle cardigan (no doubt after the episode airs and there are better refs for it, someone will make a pattern, so I’ll knit it)
